Going to Adopt Grieco

Our Lion’s members of Sunnyside/Woodside went to the open house at the
“Guide Dog Center”
in Smithtown, Long Island and ran into former Woodsider John Kraft
(Massapequa Lions Club) and his wife Gloria. It was like old home week; John
recently had become a Judge in Massapequa shortly before his proud mother
Claire past away. John is another proud Alumnus from St. Teresa’s school. (L

Ona Whitman, President Pat Quinn, (His Honor Judge) John Kraft, Gloria Kraft
and Community Board 2 Chairman Joe Conley.

guided Vinny Grieco friends to our Lion’s Club they put a few fund raisers
together that raised the $6000.00 that enabled the Lion’s to sponsor the
dog. We are thankful to Vinnys friends for keeping Vinny’s memory-alive.

We had to check out Bernadette back

sure it was empty and
that all the puppies were still in

center |
Many of us experienced how the guide
dog works by letting ourselves be blindfolded and lettering the dog lead us. In
the picture Bernadette (L) is being guided at the curb. It was a quite an
experience, none of us will forget.

$6000.00 check to member of the Guide Dog Foundation for the guide dog “Grieco”
